AIME – Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience

Giving Indigenous High School students the opportunity to have a fair go at University

The Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience supports Indigenous High School Students through one-on-one mentoring with university students. Each student involved in our AIME programme has a higher chance of making it through high school and then into university. To measure this statement, we actually track the progress of each of the students through the program and report back on these progression rates in our annual report.

It was with the support of $15,000 received from the James N. Kirby Foundation that AIME was able to support a further seven Indigenous high school students in the Sydney City region.

With the introduction of this programme we are pleased to report and extremely proud to advise that two of our eight schools in the Sydney City region have AIME students as their school captains. Both of these students are the first Aboriginal captains in the history of their high schools.

Thank you to the James N. Kirby Foundation for walking with AIME.
